Our Philosophy

It is our mission at the Academy of music to provide a balance of contemporary and classical teaching methods, which continue to produce proficient, well-rounded musicians. This unique teaching style adapts to the specific needs of individual students of all ages. Our curriculum includes a tiered course of study that teaches the fundamentals in a progressive and logical manner. A variety of styles including jazz, rock, classical and other forms of popular music are utilized to further enhance our method and sustain interest among our students. Students are encouraged to participate in performances in both individual and group settings which include; piano duets, piano ensembles, vocal choirs, rock bands and drum ensembles. These additional practices create long term, versatile students with a great appreciation for music

The Academy has given my son the opportunity to perform in many festivals here in Toronto as well as other locations in Southern Ontario. He has learned to perform in front of small and large audiences. This has given him self-confidence!. – Mrs. Donna Smith
